Matt Jenkins is the founder of Junkyard Productions.

Matt started playing music when he realized he could pound on stuff. Pot's and Pan's were the first instruments of choice. So, he joined the band in 5th Grade. But ultimately, his Mom wasn't too keen on the idea of having her ADHD-laden 10 year old pounding on a drum kit like Animal from the Muppets, so a guitar quickly took the place of the drums sticks.

Fast Forward 20 years....

Matt now plays 5 instruments, runs a studio, teaches private lessons ( covering 5 subjects), plays in two bands and produces 5-6 demo's/records a year while working a full time job.

Yes... He is insane.

Currently, Matt is producing the next Kidd Russ record: a local hip hop artist. He is also fronting ‘The Girthtones,’ a band that is working on their first EP in Junkyard Studios. Produced by Matt, of course, with help from his band mates. His college band, 'Blue Smock Nancy' also has a Myspace page and their material is available on Itunes. Matt's passion for working with other musicians is clearly apparent and his dedication towards projects is unrivaled.

2009 has been incredibly busy with Kidd Russ and the Girthtones making waves..... Specifically in the Professional Wrestling World. The guys were asked to write a theme song for ROH star Rhett Titus and they delivered. The Song has been called the Best Theme Song in wrestling by many folks on Youtube and in Wrestling forums. The duo was called upon again to deliver their brand of funk. Their second joint theme song venture was for Colt Cabana.

Check out both tunes on itunes.....

Between that madness and opening up for THE ROOTS, GYM CLASS HEROES, NASA and MR. LIF, 2009, has been jam packed with excitement and accomplishment.

2008 was an incredily busy year with many projects successfully completed. From converting old home movies to DVD's with custom soundtracks, menu's and artwork to making customized audio/movie players for websites, Matt completed more projects than the previous year. He consulted with David Miller for the 2008 LFHS talent show and a Summer 2007 production at Gorton Community Center in Lake Forest. In Winter 2006, Matt was asked to come teach several classes at Lake Forest High School about implementing Compressors properly into their Auditorium Sound System. He has taught at Lake Forest Country Day School in their Music Department with over 12 weeks of Substitution experience. Matt has also taught well over 5000 private, in home Guitar Lessons on the North Shore. He is also currently running the eBay store for Chicago's Legendary Music Store, Make'n Music. Matt considers himself a workaholic known for putting in 70 hour weeks when necessary. If you want 1000 different jobs done fast, affordably, and correctly, Matt's your guy.
